I am a former member of Swami Sugrim Singh (Ottawa Sai Baba) (ak.a. Toronto Sai Baba). I spent years in his group listening to his stories and accounts until realizing one day that there were numerous inconsistencies that could not be explained. I will try and list a few of these in this, my first, blog entry. A picture of the man is attached so that you can identify him if you ever see him. His pictures have become somewhat extinct on the web since he violently chased a fat iranian man out of his “ashram”. I found this picture floating around somewhere.

The first and possibly the largest inconsistency (or quite possibly a lie) that he told the group was that he was chosen by Sai Baba at Puttaparthi. He told us at the time the group was beginning to form that Sai Baba personally asked him to spread his message and come to Canada and perform satsangs in his name, but i have come to know now that he is barred from even entering Sai Baba’s compound because he has been labeled as a Sai Baba copycat and is on their copycat watch..
In the early years of the group’s formative years Sugrim (or Sugriv) had also posted several messages from his government email. He routinely said that human minds and eyes can always be fooled.
Swami Sugriv Singh preaches to “Why ferar when I am hear” (we have seen this quote floating around this site and others), but a number of people saw him angrily upset people by insulting them.
In an effort to promote his association with Sai Baba, Sugriv began the site “Sai Nilayams” (Sainilayam.org). As Sai Baba’s organization became aware of his ploy, they warned Sugriv against trying to affiliate himself with Sai Baba or his organization. This is why they stopped and made the site locked in and non accessible.
Yet still he did not realize that he could no longer publicly be affiliated with Sai Baba, and he attach himself to another great guru as well Amma. He began to tell people that he was the reincarnation of Krishna’s cupid-hence the reference in his profile on gurusfeet and love. The interesting thing is that he never mentioned this incarnation to anyone until he could no longer publicly associate himself with Sai Baba.
In order to increase his revenue stream, Sugrim and Das set up a monthly membership plan whereby the members of the group were to pay a minimum of $50-$100 per month at the first of every month(he declared this minimum himself. I got this from an individual who was present at the time). We were told to only worship at Sai Nilayam. IT was so unfair. We left.
Learning from skeptical science:If any of these words are untrue that Sugrim Singh (aka, ram singh, aka, dharamraj singh, aka, sugriv singh, aka sugreev singh) dresses in an orange robe, says that satya sai baba comes through him, that he is the bridge between prema sai, that his family is in charge of the charity, that he drive very expensive cars or has a mansion but works as a government of canada worker, that he speaks with an accent, a limp sometimes is used and that he travels the world preaching and that his charitable organization (he is the spiritual head, as his wife is the president) takes in donations (over 1million by last count) and any number of other things please let us know.Just in case you would like to sue Sai Nilayam. There is something called discovery in Canada. WE will need all of your tapes, transcripts, emails, photos, members and the like. It works both ways.
